New Goal: BP Cleanse DIY

For approximately 1100 calories a day- you can cleanse with the ingredients below. All you need is time, a juicer, a blender, and lots of fresh fruits & veggies. Here is my goal for the next two weeks. (I plan on taking three days to cleanse in the first week and then in the second week I plan on maintaining the health kick by juicing until dinner).

          

#1 Green Juice (130 cal):

Romaine, Celery, Cucumber, Apple, Spinach, Kale, Parsley, & Lemon

Nutrition Benefits:

This drink gives you energy you need and the vitamins your body craves. Kale is known to be powerful antioxidant / anti-inflammatory and is very high on vitamin K, C and rich in calcium. And “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”.

Ingredients:

3 Romaine leafs
5 Celery ribs
1 Cucumber
3 Kale leafs
5 Parsley ribs
2 granny smith Apple
5 tbsp Spinach
1 oz Lemon juice

 Another Take on #1 Green: “BPC” Green Juice Recipe from another Chef

  • kale  leaves (approx 4 medium leaves)
  • spinach leaves (approx two large handfuls)
  • swiss  chard leaves (approx 3 large leaves)
  • 2 apples
  • 3 stalks of celery
  • 1 large cucumber
  • 2 lemons

Juice them all, skim the “froth” off the top and store in glass containers. The less exposure to oxygen the better, so the tapered top of bottles is a good choice.

This recipe makes enough for two 14 ounce servings.

#2 Almost BPC Gold or try P.A.M. below

1/4 Pineapple
1 tbs. Wheatgrass mix

Method:

Juice, blend and drink

 
#2-Gold- P.A.M. (210 cal)

Pineapple
Apple
Mint

Let the pineapple sit on its side in the refrigerator for half an hour before you cut it, to allow the flavors to settle differently.

Nutrition Benefits:

This drink is a sugar rush. Your body will be needing energy and this drink gives it to you. Like any normal juice only healthier and fresher if you juice it.

Ingredients:

1/3 Pineapple
2 granny smith Apple
4 tbsp Mint (finely chopped)
1 oz Lime juice

Method:

Juice, mix and drink

#3 Green Juice – Repeat #1 above

#4 BPC Lemon Juice/ Master Cleanse Lemonade (110 cal)

Water, Lemon, Cayenne, & Agave

Nutrition Benefits:

The combination of lemon which help in the detoxification process and cayenne pepper which increases circulation which raises the metabolism is really crucial to any type of cleanse.

Ingredients:

424 ml Filtered Water
3 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper
1 tbsp Agave Nectar / Grade B Maple Syrup

Method:

Squeeze, mix, chill and drink

#5 Green Juice – Repeat #1 above or try Red below.

#5 Red: C.A.B. (190 cal)

Apple, Carrot, Beet, Lemon, & Ginger

Beet juice is strong and can cause stomach upset. If you don’t like beet juice- then don’t try this. It is good when mixed with apples, but still a strong taste.

Nutrition Benefits:

Carrot known as a rich source of vitamin A which takes a big part in improving vision. Beets help with stress and digestion.

Ingredients:

3 Carrots
1 Fuji Apple
2 Beet
4 Celery ribs
1-1/2 tbsp Ginger
1/2 oz Lemon juice

Method:

Juice, mix and drink

 

#6 Almost BPC Cashew Milk (300 cal)

1 cup raw cashews
4 cups filtered water
3 tablespoons agave nectar, or to taste
1 teaspoon vanilla (or vanilla bean)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
optional: 1/2 teaspoon each ground nutmeg, ginger and cardamom

A little more complicated than the previous mixes but your protein for the entire day comes from this little decadent drink. You will really enjoy this so sip slowly. Also- don’t have this right before bed. Make sure to have it two hours before you sleep.

Method:

1.  Soak cashews in water overnight.

2. Blend cashews and their water in a blender until smooth. If desired, strain through cheesecloth.

3. Stir in remaining ingredients. To stay true to Blueprint, add only agave, vanilla and cinnamon. May add optional spices to make a new drink.

Makes 4+ servings. Enjoy! Put in freezer for slushy like goodness!

(Another Chef’s notes: To make your own cashew nut or almond milk, simply blend an ounce of raw cashews or raw almonds in a blender with water or coconut water. I prefer coconut water because it acts like a blood transfusion and helps your body absorb all the nutrients. You can also add a dash of cinnamon (an anti-inflammatory spice) and vanilla for taste.)
